The sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections in India has been completed.
In the sixth phase of India’s general elections, voting took place on Saturday in a total of 58 seats in 6 states and 2 union territories.
The voting turnout was 59.06 percent in the polls held in the capital New Delhi, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Haryana, Jharkhand, Orissa and Jammu and Kashmir.
In the Indian capital, New Delhi, a tough competition is expected between Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s party Aam Aadmi Party and Modi’s ruling party BJP. Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi also voted in New Delhi.
So-called elections were also held in 2 districts of occupied Kashmir, Islamabad and Rajouri.
Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti protested against the detention of PDP workers and polling agents.
The All-Party Hurriyat Conference has described the elections in the occupied valley as a sham.
It should be noted that on completion of 6 phases, voting for 486 out of 543 Lok Sabha seats was completed.
After the completion of 6 phases, the final phase will be on June 1, after which the votes will be counted, and the results will be announced on June 4.
