Power breakdown in Ecuador, 18 million citizens without power

The South American country of Ecuador was plunged into darkness due to a power breakdown.

According to the British news agency (BBC), yesterday there was a blackout in Ecuador due to which 18 million citizens lost electricity.

According to media reports, the power outage brought the train system to a standstill and traffic lights in the capital, Quito, while the power outage also affected the education system and daily life.
According to reports, the power outage lasted for several hours, upon which Government Minister Roberto Luc attributed the breakdown to lack of investment in the power system.

Roberto Luque said that for many years there was no investment in the electricity system and today the results are coming.

On the other hand, the Mayor of Quito said that due to the blackout, the electricity of the metro, which has its own separate system, faced a power outage due to a fault in the electrical energy system.
