Early presidential elections will be held in Iran today after the death of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash.
According to the Iranian media, two candidates have withdrawn from the race in the early Iranian presidential elections, while there will be a contest between 4 candidates for the presidential elections.
Iranian media say that there will be a competition between Saeed Jalili, Mohammad Baqir, Masoud Pazishkian and Mustafa Pourmohammadi for the presidency.
Those who resigned include Tehran Mayor Ali Razakani and the head of Shahada Foundation, Amir Hossein Ghazizadeh. Both candidates withdrew due to declining popularity.
It should be noted that due to the accidental death of President Ibrahim Raisi, early elections are being held in Iran. President Ibrahim Raisi along with 7 other Iranian officials died in a helicopter crash last month.
Voting for the presidential elections in Iran will begin at 8 am, more than 61 million people have been declared eligible to vote.
According to Iranian media, the final results of the presidential election will be announced in two days.
Iranian media reported that if no candidate gets more than 50 percent of the votes, there will be a second round of elections.
