Armenia announced the recognition of Palestine as a state.
According to foreign media reports, on Friday, Armenia’s Foreign Ministry announced the recognition of Palestine as a state, opposing Israel’s targeting of civilian populations.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, it is said that the Republic of Armenia has recognized the State of Palestine, confirming its commitment to international law, sovereignty and peace.
Armenia added that it is truly keen on laying out long haul harmony and strength in the Center East.On the other hand, a senior official of the Palestinian Authority, Hussein Al-Sheikh, has welcomed this initiative on behalf of Armenia.
It should be noted that during the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, many countries have recognized Palestine as a state, which has been strongly criticized by the Israeli authorities.
