Malawi’s Vice President Saulo Klaus has died in a plane crash.
This was confirmed by the President of Malawi, Lazarus Chakwera.
The president of Malawi said during a TV address that rescue teams have discovered the wreckage of the plane and that no one on board survived.
The wreckage of the plane was discovered in a forest in a mountainous area in the north of Malawi.
The missing plane of the vice president of the African country of Malawi has probably crashed.
Earlier, the Commander of the Malawi Defense Force, Paul Valentino Phiri, said that the plane belonging to Vice President Saulo Klaus may have crashed in Chikungwa forest, but it has not yet been discovered.
He said that dense forest and fog are hampering the rescue operation.
It should be noted that 10 people including the Vice President of Malawi were on board this plane.
The plane was en route from the capital, Lilongwe, to Mozuzo on June 10 and disappeared from radar shortly after takeoff and has since been tracked.
Malawian President Lazarus Chakwera also canceled a scheduled flight to the Bahamas after the incident was reported.
The President of Malawi addressed the public on Monday night and said: ‘I know this is a heartbreaking situation but I can assure you that every effort will be made to find the plane and I hope that we all People will be found.
He said that according to the signals from the telecommunication towers, the last position of this aircraft was recorded 10 kilometers away in the forest and that is why search work is being done there.
The president of Malawi has asked for help from neighboring countries as well as the United States and the United Kingdom to search for the plane.
